My Photo Exhibition Impressions of the Kimberley & Faces of the Omo Valley has now been moved to Cafe Il Cibo, 2 Market Str. in Fremantle (opposite the train station)
il cibo is open from 6 AM till 4 PM 7 days a week. Phone nr: 08-94334900 .
Postcards and all artwork is for sale as well as my book TRIBAL ETHIOPIA which makes a great gift.

Society for Threatened Peoples International is an international NGO and human rightsorganization with its headquarters in Berlin, Germany. It claims to create awareness of and protect minority peoples around the world who are threatened by oppressive governments. The group states on its website that it “campaigns against all forms of genocide and ethnocide“. It has advisory status at the United Nations, participatory status with the Council of Europe and has sections and offices in Germany, Austria, Switzerland,Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Iraqi Kurdistan.

The Power and The Passion exhibition comes to Perth after a successful showing in Broome. It highlights both the power of the Kimberley landscape and the passion of the people fighting to protect it.Featuring the photography of renowned artists such as Australian and West Australian Landscape photographer of the year Christian Fletcher, Adam Monk, Nigel Gaunt, Ingetje Tadros, Rod Harvigsen, David Bettini and Fleming Bo Jensen.Our official opening night will be the first chance for the public to witness this powerful exhibition – drinks and nibbles will be provided so come and join the celebration of this fantastic showcase of talent and passion. RSVP is essential!When: Friday 30 March 2012, 6.30pm

Finally the time has come i can start editting and selecting the images of my last trip, i’ve uploaded some of the fun Hipstomatic ones, which i did together with my husband, now it’s time for the ‘real’ stuff.
This trip i did mainly portraits and this is the beginning, hope you like them…i definitely had a lot of fun!

Prestigious photographic awards

The International Loupe Awards consists of eight open categories and three amateur categories. Amateur categories are not open to professional photographers, but the open categories are for everyone with a camera.
Winners of the prestigious prizes were chosen by 25 judges, from nine countries worldwide.

I’m very happy that ‘the woman and the chicken‘ made it through a very heavy selection, thanks to the Judges, to me this means a lot, as it feels great that the hard work i put in gets acknowledged and appreciated.

This image made it through a big selection and is chosen for the Diary One World Almanac 2013 produced by New Internationalist and Helvetas and also will be published in FAMILY CALENDER 2013 which will be printed in July in Switzerland.

This is personal work which i need to do not only for myself but also for my family in Egypt.
This is work in progress.

As my family in Egypt lost , in an instant, a son, hit by a drunk driver in Cairo.
Me and my husband went over to Egypt to support them and attend the “40th day” a day of remembrance.
The 40th day is a big ceremony in the Coptic Church in Nag Hamadi and this is the day that the mother will visit the grave for the first time…as she did not go to his burial.
