This photo book provides a stunning glimpse of tribal life in Ethiopia. The photographs (mainly portraits) are up close and personal, drawing you into a fascinating world through attention to detail and cultural expression. Each portrait carries an earthy essence; as much a reflection on tribal life in Ethiopia as it is of the photographer. With a passion for indigenous heritage and nature, Inge’s photographs capture something incredibly real about people and the places they abide.
There is nothing staged or manufactured about Inge’s work; her subjects are honoured and empowered throughout. Having met and assisted Inge during her travels in Orissa (India), I can vouch for her fearless spirit and willingness to engage with indigenous communities well off the beaten track. Braving less than comfortable conditions to capture beautiful images that despite all appearances are far from effortless! I wish Inge all the best for a successful photography career & look forward to her forthcoming book on Orissa!
